OUR WORK AT OAKLAND TECH WEEK
Our commitment to Oakland Tech Week began with its inaugural year in 2025.
Decolonise All and MelaninScience came together to help create spaces where Oakland’s communities could see themselves in the future of science, technology, healthcare, and innovation.
In 2025, we began that work through The Merge, bringing together people across biotech, healthcare, medtech, technology, science, and entrepreneurship while creating a space for Oakland communities and people of color to connect, build relationships, and imagine what comes next.
TECH FOR HEALTH EQUITY
A cross-sector conversation exploring the intersection of community, health, STEM, biotech, and technology — and what it means to build innovation with Oakland communities at the center.

In 2026, we are expanding that vision.
Through our Tech for Health Equity Series, we are bringing Oakland’s history of community-led health into conversation with the future of care — from the Black Panther Party’s legacy of community health and free clinics to sickle cell research, biotechnology, health technology, and the people shaping what comes next.
For us, Oakland Tech Week is about more than technology. It is about who gets to shape the future, whose knowledge is valued, and how innovation can remain connected to the communities it is meant to serve.
